Unlock the Secrets of Oscar-Worthy Skin Care Products (and Routines)

EMMA STONE // Lexie Moreland/WWD

Oscar season ended last night, with Oppenheimer and Poor Things (both excellent films!) taking home many coveted trophies. And while Red Carpet fashion is always attention-grabbing, I spent most of Sunday afternoon looking at glowing skin, beautiful hair, and makeup during every interview.

From Issa Ray’s flawless complexion to Emma Stone’s peachy-pink lips, natural beauty was very much on display. But let's not forget the unsung heroes behind these looks: talented hair and makeup artists who work tirelessly to bring out the best in our favorite celebrities.

In a reveal to Vanity Fair, makeup artist Rachel Goodwin shared her process for Emma Stone’s look. She opted for a fresh skin look and a peachy pink lip in 90s Pink from Charlotte Tilbury, a classic choice. But what caught our attention was the not-yet-released Pillow Talk Big Lip Plumpgasm, a product that's sure to be another hit in the Tilbury collection.

As much as hair and makeup are essential on Oscar Sunday, the prep for glowing skin starts in the days leading up to the big show.

Aesthetician and Makeup Artist-Recommended Beauty Products

Here are some beauty products celebrity aestheticians and makeup artists recommend to include in your skincare routine.

Monika Blunder - Dewy skin was everywhere on Sunday’s red carpet. As we head into warmer months, show off deeply nourished skin with body oil. Monika Blunder Beauty Body Language Body Oil is luminous and hydrating.

Rachel Goodwin - Before applying lip color, exfoliating lips is essential. Goodwin reaches for The Lip Scrub by Sara Happ before application.

Angela Caglia – For the ultimate glow, Caglia uses Cell Forte Serum with BIOMSC technology on her clients to elevate hydration, minimize hyperpigmentation, smooth texture, and reduce fine lines in the weeks leading up to the Academy Awards.

Elizabeth Grace Hand—To minimize fine lines around the eyes, esthetician and Stallë Studios Founder Elizabeth Grace Hand incorporates Retrouve Revitalizing Eye Concentrate Skin Hydrator into facials and skincare routines. The formula is recommended as an overnight treatment but just as beneficial in daytime treatments for deep hydration or to prep the skin for makeup.

Molly R. Stern—Serums are game-changers in any skincare routine, thanks to their concentration of nutrients and soothing antioxidants. SAINT JANE Luxury Beauty Serum is a favorite of makeup artists, including Molly R. Stern, who uses it to hydrate and calm skin.

Athena Hewett– Cleansing oil is the perfect first step in cleansing, as it breaks down sunscreen and makeup. Featuring rose essence and rose and hazelnut oils, Monastery Made Rose Cleansing Oil is a luxurious formula that cleanses, nourishes and repairs skin with each use.
