How to Market Your Skincare Business

I’m a huge fan of skincare—whether it’s trying new products or heading to a nearby spa for a much-needed facial. The skincare industry is one of my favorites to write content for and learn how to keep my skin in tip-top shape!

Like any other business, finding ways to market your skincare line or store can seem overwhelming, especially if you don’t know where to start. Here are some marketing recommendations to implement into your overall strategy that will help you:

  • Expand brand awareness

  • Increase leads – through email marketing and social media marketing

  • Grow sales (because who doesn’t want that?)

Are you ready to dive into some simple tips for marketing your skincare business? Okay, keep reading.

Tips for Marketing Your Skincare Business

  • Create events or demonstrations about your products! With the development of platforms like Facebook Live and Instagram Live Stories, you have the potential to reach hundreds and thousands of people at once. Show off your products, give demonstrations on how to use them and what they can do for common skincare issues – customers are more likely to buy products when they understand how they work and how they make a difference in skin routines. Plus, customers like to see humans on the other end of a business -- they connect brands with faces and personalities, which helps develop even more business down the line.

  • Encourage customer interaction on social media. Make sure your customers know where to find you on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook – whether that’s by including it on your website or by printing it on your brochures and business cards. You can also print it onto your appointment reminders or receipts, and always encourage followers to comment or engage with your content!

  • Provide value in addition to marketing. Do you like it when businesses constantly sell, sell, sell? Nope. Of course, selling products is key to sustaining a business, but giving value to the customer aside from products is a good way to develop trust, loyalty, and education. On your website blog, be sure to mix in content highlighting more informative-based pieces, such as articles on skincare, the science behind product ingredients, and how the skin ages…you get the idea. Customers will appreciate the information and be much more receptive to learning about your product!

  • Offer consistent content. Whether you want to stay in touch with your customers by sending out weekly newsletters or emails, interact with them on social media or develop blog posts to engage readers, there’s one thing you need to do: stay consistent. Staying visible and fresh on the ever-changing Internet is vital if you want to stand out against a competitor. Through email marketing, offer specials or coupons that get customers in the door month after month – rewarding loyalty also helps encourage referrals! The last thing you want to do is obtain provided email leads that don’t turn into customers.

These are just some of the simple ways you can begin marketing your skincare business.

Frequent blog posts also keep your website ranking higher than businesses who don’t have a blog or let it collect dust – and when someone is searching for a skincare product or business in such-and-such city, you want your establishment or online business to be ahead of the rest.
